And we couldn’t be more excited to hear that Tina East Village is finally opening throwing open its doors on September 1st.
Co-owner Steve Hawkes explains what we can expect. “The first two weeks is bar only, so the hours are 5pm-11.30pm and drinks will include a range of classic cocktails such as Martinis, Negronis, Old Fashioneds and Manhattans. Then there’s a select wine list including some English options and a range of bottled beers.”
After that boozy start, the team will be adding food to the offer: “The following two weeks we open all day, with a reduced food menu. Then it’s all guns blazing with a full breakfast and lunch menu including options such as poached eggs on sourdough, American style pancakes, French toast and eggs Benedict, morphing into a bar in the evening. Coffee is supplied by Alchemy Coffee Roasters and is the usual lattes, flat whites and so on.”
Don’t worry, there’ll also be less breakfasty food to soak up the alcohol of an evening. “Three nights a week we will have a range of street food vans parked up outside acting as our guest kitchen.” We’re so there, with bells on.
Oh and a side note, if you’re wondering who Tina is, she’s the hot lady gracing the wall, from a 1960s painting by J. H. Lynch. The image of Tina was taken by the team’s photographer friend Nigel Grimmer, and has been enlarged to epic wall covering proportions for Tina’s East Village home.
