Now it’s nearly mid-November, it’s time to make sure you’re thinking about where to book those Christmas parties. And where better than the two super-popular Star pubs in E10 and E11?
First up, let’s take a look at what Leyton Star is offering. Kitchen residency Fireyard BBQ are cooking up a fantastic and tasty range of festive food with their brand-new Special Christmas Menu. Pick from two £30) or three courses (£35), with starters such as 12-hour smoked beef cheek nuggets, chicken liver parfait, house-smoked salmon with coal-roasted beetroot, or a plant-based parsnip and pear velouté with truffle. Mains include Norfolk Bronze turkey breast, smoked cauliflower steak and smoked gammon, plus a whole host of trimmings, like sprout tops and pot-roasted carrots and parsnips.
And don’t forget festive desserts, such as Traditional Christmas pudding, Black Forest cheesecake, or bitter chocolate cherry brownie. To top off the great food, you can order from an extensive range of drinks packages, perfect for any advent adventure.
Need a larger spot to house a lively gathering of mates, family or work colleagues? Above the main area of the Leyton Star is the Gold Room. A large and spacious place which can be laid out to suit any festive occasion, it can hold up to 90 people.
Even better, book the Karaoke room from £49 per hour (or why not take advantage of the VIP package that’s £149 for 3 hours of karaoke and 2 bottles of bubbles, valued at £30 each) and sing along to Xmas classics like Slade, Wizard, and of course Mariah.
And with the World Cup starting on 20th Nov, there’s also all the festive football you could want to watch shown on the Leyton Star big screen.
Meanwhile over in Leytonstone, the Heathcote & Star has a selection of rooms and spaces which you can reserve for any group of family, friends or work colleagues to celebrate this Christmas.
As with its E10 sibling, an extra Special Festive Menu is on offer. Pick from two (£30) or three courses (£35), with smoked salmon, roasted pumpkin soup or choice of terrine with sourdough to start; followed by vegan nut roast with a rich mushroom sauce, British turkey crown or roasted Scotch rib-eye for mains, with all the trimmings, including pan-fried shredded sprouts and beef dripping potatoes for carnivores.
