Keeping it in the family, owner Dan O’Connor’s younger brother Joe will be on chef duties. A recent Instagram post showing Joe doing his cheffy thing at wastED London – Selfridges food waste pop-up restaurant – gives a possible clue to the theme of the restaurant: we’re thinking local, sustainable and possibly zero-waste dining. More details as we hear them (they’re not giving much away at the mo, sorry folks).In other news, men of the potentially bearded variety might enjoy a new addition to High Road Leyton. Hip no-appointment-necessary barbershop Rocket – who already boast branches in Peckham, Hackney, Stoke Newington and Walthamstow – opened the doors to their Leyton branch last Saturday.
With a tagline of “You grow it, we mow it” – what else? – cuts cost from £12, beard trims from £8, with discounts for students and kiddies through the week.
