MUST DO: Le Petit Corner’s tapas (and movie) takeover

Spanish small plates and film nights are coming to High Road Leytonstone
R

egular readers will know how much we heart the casual French café on the corner of leafy Browning Road, which dishes up tartines, toasties and sarnies by day.

But if you love Spanish cuisine as much as French, from July, every Thursday of the month (except the first) a specialist chef going by the name of J M Aguirre will dish up an array of traditional delights ranging from gooey tortilla and nutty manchego to meatballs coated in a rich tomato sauce.

And on the first Thursday? Movie nights are kicking off, with 1975 Spielberg thriller Jaws first up on the 5th. Food and drinks will be served from 6pm ’til closing, with the feature starting at about 7.30pm.

So it’s probably worth popping into the stylish joint for some authentic grub and a chilled glass or two of vino – a taste of Iberia in E11, perhaps.
