Barking Riverside to host Mammoth Taproom tasting pop-up

We've teamed up with Barking Riverside and Leytonstone's finest taproom to offer discount tickets for the price of a pint

We love Mammoth Taproom, the fiercely independent bar that opened a year or two ago in the railway arches at Leytonstone High Road Overground.

And if you’re a fan too, and fancy experiencing Leytonstone’s finest beer in a brand new East London location – for one night only, no less – put Friday 15th March in your diary.

This is when new neighbourhood Barking Riverside will host their latest event (you may remember we’ve covered several of their previous pop-ups and summer festies). It’s an evening of beer-tasting at The Wilds (see below), a stylish multi-purpose community, ecology and events space (see below) whose onsite artisan cafe, Grounded, is also open to the public daily.

The Wilds is handily just a few minutes walk from London’s newest Overground station Barking Riverside (on what is soon to be called the Suffragette line). Plus it’s only four swift stops from Leytonstone High Road, of course.

The evening allows guests the opportunity to get their tastebuds tingling and experience some of East London’s best brews under the guidance of E11’s very own microbrewery and tap room.

You’ll get a welcome drink on arrival, and then attendees will be invited to taste a selection of four half pints of craft beers, followed by the chance to buy independently brewed ales and lagers from the bar.

What to expect: Tasting & Teaching

Guests will be welcomed with a free palate-cleanser soft drink on arrival. The Mammoth Beer team will then lead a tasting session of four of their craft beers (250ml servings), from IPAs to Pale Ales and more. Mammoth will take guests through the art of brewing, teaching them about the history, ingredients and production of beer, as well as different styles, hops, yeast, and beer presentation.

Once the tasting has finished, the Mammoth Beer team will serve drinks to purchase from behind the bar, so ticketholders can socialise while enjoying the lagers and ales on offer. Alcohol-free drinks will also be available to purchase.

Ticket price is £8 here. Better still, we’ve teamed up to offer a 15% discount rate on tickets purchased through Leytonstoner, with the (note: upper case) code LEYTONSTONER15, which means tickets are a bargain £6.80 (barely more than a single pint, right?). But be quick, as there aren’t many spots available.
