Leyton's finest unveil another captivating installation tonight

If you saw their mesmerizing projected film installation over in Walthamstow at the Borough of Culture launch the other weekend – as we did – you’ll know how talented E10’s Addictive TV are.

And tonight they present their groundbreaking global Orchestra of Samples project a little closer to home at the newly inaugurated St John’s Music Hall.

Featuring over 200 musicians from 30 countries, the work was eight years in the making, and features recordings from Brazil, Egypt, China, Kazakhstan, Senegal, Colombia and even Bhutan in the Himalayas.

The award-winning duo, Graham Daniels and Mark Vidler, filmed the improvised recording sessions and then ingeniously sampled and spliced them together to create the installation. The result is what they call “a digital supergroup of international artists who never met”.

Joining them live ce soir will be fellow local artists Layil Barr on bass viol, percussionist Khaled Hakim on Persian daf and rapper LEMZI. Support is from rising singer-songwriter Harry Pane.

Orchestra of Samples starts 630pm tonight, 25th January at St John’s Music Hall. More details here
