Mum Likes Thai Food to open in Leytonstone

The second branch of the East London family-owned Thai restaurant is coming to E11

Now this is exciting for anyone a touch exasperated that they can never secure a booking at the legendary Singburi down the road.

A second branch of the Roman Road-based Mum Likes Thai Food is opening later this month on Leytonstone High Road. Guess where? Two doors down from the all-conquering Homies On Donkeys. Makes sense, huh?

Occupying the spot of deceased Thai restaurant Petch Sayam, MLTF is the brainchild of chef Tanakrit Pimpa, its simple premise being to offer “healthy and delicious” curries, noodles and other traditional Thai dishes in an “unfussy restaurant with cocktails.” Sounds good to us.

Highlights on the menu will include green and red Thai curries, dumplings, Thai spiced minced chicken, Tom Yum soup, Thai Fish cakes and Pad Thai (naturally).  Specials might include deep fried sea bass fillet with tamarind sauce served with steamed broccoli and pineapple, or grilled sirloin beef with green salad on sizzling plate. We say: bring it on.

Please support us if you can

Did you appreciate hearing about this new restaurant opening? Then maybe you can help. We are about to reach our 8th birthday and have a bigger audience and social media following than ever before, but due to advertising revenues in freefall both Leytonstoner and our small network of independent online titles is under threat. As readers we need your support more than ever to keep delivering ‘good-news’ cultural stories that celebrate our wonderful neighbourhoods. Every reader or business contribution, however big or small, is invaluable in helping the costs of running the website and the time invested in the research and writing of the articles published. Support Leytonstoner here for less than the price of a coffee and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
